After a long career in the recruitment industry, Andrew set out to fulfil his life-long passion for music. In June 2017 Andrew launched Soundshop with a view to not only building a profitable business, but also actively building the live music industry in Canberra.

Andrew has been playing bass and guitar for 40 years. He has performed with several bands starting with swing/rock pub band Cruize Control in the early 80s and more recently with pub rockers Obsessions, Vendetta and the originals band Carnival Road. 

Andrew is the owner of Canberra's oldest and most respected entertainment booking agency - Funnell Entertainment and convener of the Canberra Music Workshop - an amateur jam group. In Canberra Andrew well-known for organising events like the Boot n Flogger Revival Party. Active in the Canberra music scene, he has recorded and mixed live music events, including for the Canberra Blues Society monthly jams. Andrew proudly promotes local acts and is always keen to help establish new live music venues. 

 

Carnival Road

Band Members: Anthony Ives, Jack Barnard, Chris Pearson and Andrew Rickard. Carnival Road play/perform their songs with a special blend of folk/blues/roots/alt rock. They love performing and are focussed on providing high quality live musical performances for their audiences. They are currently in recording mode, producing their first album, which will feature all original material.

 

Boot and Flogger Revival Party

Andrew was the key organiser behind the highly successful Boot and Flogger Revival Party. A gathering of music fans at their favourite pub of old and an exciting festival of the best local bands from the Boot n Flogger days.
