After a long career in business associations and then the recruitment industry, Andrew set out to fulfil his life-long passion for music.
In July 2017 Andrew launched Soundshop with a view to not only building a profitable business, but also actively supporting the live music industry in Canberra. Soundshop provides musical equipment to purchase or hire as well as music related services including AV production, mixing for bands, backline hire, session musicians, entertainment booking and events coordination.
For several years Andrew has recorded and mixed live music events, including for several years for the Canberra Blues Society monthly jams and for many bands and special events, both large and small.
His focus on providing "fit for purpose" services and equipment has led to a growing reputation. Andrew works with some of the best businesses and contractors in the music business to provide services requiring a large team.
Aside from performing with various bands for many years, off-stage Andrew also operated as a booking agent for both bands and venues.
In July 2017 Andrew purchased one of Australia's most reputable entertainment businesses, Peter Funnell Entertainment. Trading as Soundshop & Funnell Entertainment, Andrew now books for a wide range of professional bands and represents an increasing number of venues in Canberra and the surrounding region.
Andrew has been playing bass and guitar for over 40 years. He has performed with several bands starting with swing/rock pub band Cruize Control in the early 80s and more recently with pub rockers Vendetta. Currently, Andrew performs with the originals band Carnival Road and Covers band Metropolis and fills in on bass with many others.
Andrew has a very broad play list and is often seen with his favourite bass, the Purple Levinson Blade 5 string!

view, to hear words and music so crisp and full without excess volume in an outdoor setting with occasional wind gusts was an absolute
delight. We’d be very happy to work with you again. There is talk of a reprise!
